Inspired by the bracket fungus, Fomitopsis Betulina.

Betulina acts as a marker to passersby, representing the forms that may appear growing within trees.

Emphasising the drooping motion created by the soft tissues of young bracket fungi, this work captures the flickers of sunlight through the tree canopy, creating an otherworldly shadow that further persuades individuals to look up and explore not just the fungi of the forest floor.
